Building promotional items for materials testing giants, Instron, was one of the early tasks I was set when starting there. This was great because it gave me the opportunity to get more involved with their products in-person, and learn from the engineers working on them.
The 16-station testing system was built specifically for stent testing – an incredibly important part of the medical industry – and so the challenge began to create promotional materials that balanced both well-crafted marketing messaging with specifications and details that the target audience would be looking for.
Datasheet
Something I had to create for every product was a datasheet. This print-on-demand piece was a way of summarising the product on the front, whilst going into technical detail on the back. Once approved, the content was then translated into German and Japanese and I worked this new text back into the final product.
Video
With a script and plan in place, I worked closely with two engineers to create the ElectroPuls® 16-Station Testing System video.
Seeing the product process up close was an education, and set me up well when working on tightening up the marketing messaging.
The video received great feedback, and I was then asked to create a version using Japanese content.
Webpage
The webpage allowed me to combine all the content I held; photographs, video and text, and combine them into a long-scroll page to host all of this information.
I enjoyed coding this in HTML and CSS to achieve this final piece.
